Andrew Ukhov "40 Under 40" Recognition

Congratulations to Gema's Andrew Ukhov for being selected in the Products Finishing 40 Under 40 award program, recognizing young professionals in the finishing industry. All of those selected are innovators and trailblazers, striving to be the next generation of leaders in the industry. 

Having been at Gema for 5 years, Andrew provides tremendous value to the Gema organization and customers. Starting his career in Russia, Andrew focused on coatings and specialized in the use of fusion bond epoxy (FBE) coatings applied on pipe and valves for the oil, gas, and water industries. Andrew graduated from Yaroslavl State Technical University with a specialization in chemical technology of polymeric compounds. He also speaks multiple languages - Russian, English, and German. Prior to working at Gema, Andrew was employed at coating manufacturers covering a variety of markets - general industrial, marine, pipe and valves, to agricultural. While in Russia, Andrew was a key contributor to his employer’s involvement in three major pipeline projects - Central Asia to China, the Nord Stream 2, and South Stream pipelines.

Andrew also had a desire to broaden his life and work experiences, leading him to move to the United States and joining Gema. Andrew is driven by his enjoyment in overseeing his projects and work assignments as they start from “nothing” and evolve to completion. He also enjoys the ability to share his input, experiences, and advice to colleagues and industry partners. Andrew takes pride in his work within our powder coating industry as a “Green” solution that is positively impacting the global emissions footprint.

Andrew recently obtained the certification of Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM^®) from the Project Management Institute (PMI). Throughout his career, Andrew has leveraged his training and experiences to manage and lead a wide variety of projects. At Gema, Andrew has been valuable in executing and managing numerous projects; and currently supervises the installation and start-up of complex automated powder coating systems.

As an avid outdoorsman, Andrew enjoys spending his personal time running, hiking, camping; and during the winter months, being outdoors to snowboard.

Congratulations to Andrew for his career accomplishments and leadership. We believe that he has the skills, knowledge, and drive to succeed at Gema while providing tremendous value to the powder coating industry.
